Site Planner

Site Planner is the component in Site Stacker where the website management really takes place. This is where admins can add and build pages on the website. You can publish pages using different ‘Positions’, ‘Views’, and ‘View Classes’ available to the template. ‘Positions’ is the option to publish a content depending on what the content is used for (Example; publishing a menu or a footer). A ‘View’ is a layout style in the template that is used to publish a content to a page to a specific style (Example; publishing a Hero/Banner). A ‘View Class’ is where all CSS stylings can be used for the content. The CSS styles are limited to the template.

Creating a Static Page

Static contents in Site Stacker are content items that are not dynamic (you will need to publish them in Site Plan to show up in the web page) and can be used in many ways. These contents can be for informative pages which can be the ‘About Us’ of a website, these can also be used to publish carousels, or publish sections that can have a ‘Learn More’ button, etc. This content item uses the ‘Static’ content type in Content Explorer.
Open
1. In the Content Explorer, look for the ‘Static’ folder. Right-click on the folder and click ‘Add Item’.
Open
2. In the pop-up window, you can now use the fields depending on the type of content you want to publish. After filling up the contents, click ‘Save & Close’.

5. Now, in the Content explorer side, look for the content item that you wish to publish and drag and drop it to the page you have just created. This will now let you choose the ‘Position’, View’, and add a ‘View Class’ (CSS Styles) to the item.

Using ‘Positions’, ‘Views’, and ‘View Classes’

When dragging and dropping an item to a page in Site Plan, an admin will usually encounter the ‘Site Plan Assignment’ popup window before the item can be published. This window is so that an admin can publish it differently depending on the use of the content. The ‘Position’ options is to determine how the item will function in the website. The ‘View’ options is to determine how the item will be published and the ‘View Classes’ field is to set the CSS styling for the content. Take note that the CSS style options in Site Stacker depends on the content type used and the design approved.
